Fete of feasts

Gastronomic fans will gorge well on the culinary offerings by two first-class HCMC hotels this October.

The five-star Majestic Saigon Hotel and four-star Palace Saigon Hotel belonging to Saigontourist Holding Company will introduce special buffets this month. The Majestic Saigon will launch the European-Asia-Vietnamese Buffet Week from October 17-26, with meal hours from 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. The hotel will serve various dishes of European, Asian and Vietnamese cuisines, featuring fried rice and noodles with different kinds of grilled meat and seafood.
Today, chefs Mozart Muhamad and Nobert Enhbar from the Saigon Chefs Association will hold a special Asian and Euro-Asian cooking display.
On October 22, chef Johari Edrus, chairman of the Chefs Association of Malaysia, together with chef Mozart Muhamad will introduce to diners tasty specialties such as rice, wheat noodles, and seafood.
Tickets are US$25 per adult and $12.5 per child, inclusive of servings of passion fruit juice, white wine and red wine.
Palace Saigon Hotel, meanwhile, will feature a buffet from October 20-31 priced at VND150,000 ($9.40) for lunch (Monday-Friday) or VND285,000 ($17.80) for dinner.
For regular customers who have sampled the hotel’s “Sea Flavor of the East” buffet eight times since February this year, the hotel will hand out attractive gifts worth $100 apiece.
Patrons of the hotel’s Golden Palace Restaurant where the buffet is held will dine amid a festive atmosphere. On Halloween on October 31, children will be given gifts and diners and enjoy a memorable night served by “merry ghosts.”
